Aluminum Blinds: Durable and economical horizontal blinds which are often refered to as mini blinds, macro blinds, micro blinds or metal blinds. They come in several sizes: 1" mini, 1/2" micro, 1 3/8" macro, and the 2" macro.
They are contructed of .006 to .009 gauge aluminum. The higher the gauge of the aluminum, the more durable the slat. The .006 gauge aluminum blinds are called 6-gauge and the .009 gauge aluminum blinds are called 9-gauge. Easy to clean and maintain, their clean lines fit well with any decor.
Basswood: A type of linden hardwood. Basswood is considered a high quality wood due to its resistance to warping. The highest quality grows in North America, but Chinese Basswood is more common.
Blackout: Fabrics and/or liners which block up to 99% of outside light. Blackout is sometimes called "blockout." Blackout is most often chosen for bedrooms, children's rooms, and media rooms.

Brackets: Metal or wood supports that hold up a blind or shade headrail. Usually mounted to the window frame or wall.
