Window Blind and Shade Glossary - C
Café Mount Shutters: Shutters that cover only the bottom half or 2/3 portion of a window.
Café Curtain: A simple curtain that covers only the bottom half of the window. Cafe curtain rods usually slide through fabric loops. Popular in kitchens and coffee houses.
Ceiling Mount: Refers to mounting a vertical blind headrail from the ceiling so their is no gap between the top of the blind and the ceiling.
Cellular Shade: Shades made of non-woven, anti-static patented fabric in a honeycomb pattern to create air pockets called cells. The spaces in the cells act as insulation. Cellular shades are so thin that when fully raised, they nearly vanish. When open, their translucency creates a beautiful glow of light. Also called Honeycomb Shades, they are very useful in protecting your furniture, carpeting, and wood floors from the sun's ultraviolet rays.
Cloth Tapes: A cloth version of the cord that runs down the length of the blind, holding the slats together. Cloth tape blocks more light than corded braiding because it covers the routing holes on the blinds.
Controls: Cords or wands that allow you to raise, lower, and tilt the blinds.
